Bergen op Zoom located near Antwerp and Rotterdam. It’s easy to come by train or car. De Loft is located near the train station of Bergen op Zoom and the centre.
The city was built on a place where two types of soil meet: sandy soil and marine clay. The sandy soil pushed against the marine clay, accumulating and forming hills over several centuries. People called those hills the Brabantse Wal, literally meaning “wall of Brabant”. Zoom refers to the border of this wall and bergen in Dutch means mountains or hills. The name has nothing to do with the little channel the ‘Zoom’ which was later built through Bergen op Zoom.
This building at the old harbour was previously a sugar factory, built in 1870. The contours of the factory are still visible, but the centre now offers all modern comforts. The units have many joint facilities such as a comfortable reception area, a modern kitchen, toilets, an open square and several meeting rooms.
In this building there is a pop-up restaurant for lunch, dinner or networking. De Loft is a special place for the starter.
